OK, Rosa inspired me to finally post my photo of my Marialis shawl. This was some Targhee/dog undercoat that I dyed a nice dark plum. I know it looks black in the FO photo. I do love how it turned out-the bloopers are invisible to anyone but me and I can wrap the shawl around me and tuck the ends into my waistband. Hands free is good for this hsing Mom!

Heartland Lace Shawl
I finished Heartland in July of 2008, but never got around to posting it because I was huge with child. I gave her the proper photo shoot and written description on my blog.

Finally
Way back when, I introduced myself to the group and talked about knitting a shawl from handspun. At this time, I don't even remember what shawl was in the plans. In any event, I've finally knit my shawl from handspun.

It's the perfect pie shawl and contains a myriad of wools. A secret pal had gifted me with some handspun way before I began spinning. This shawl is comprised of 5 wedges. I used the handspun from my secret pal for the 1st and the 5th wedge. The wool is a mystery to me. For wedges 2-3, I used a mix of alpaca, merino and mohair. Different fibers, suppliers, and hues. I made it work.
Right now my shawl is without an edging, and although it looks fine to me, I long to spin up something contrasting to really complete my handspun shawl. I'm extremely proud of this, and have immediate plans to finish working on my other handspun project on the needles.
Thanks for looking.

Finished and delivered...
Well, I'm a little late posting, but I did get my shawl woven last month and left it for it's new owner. I did a Leno lace weave every 10th strand, but I think it's hard to see in the pictures. It was so incredibly soft and light. I'll be using the left-over yarn to do another shawl.
Right now, though, I have to get back to some Christmas ruana's that are calling me.... :-)

Eureka..........
well after much dithering I have made a final decision on which shawl to knit, as you know I was not sure about colourways, and the decision was made for me by my lovely swap partner Joann, she sent me some fabulous Koigu merino, so after much searching on the Internet I have chosen..

The Diamond Fantasy Shawl.....
It will be knitted up in.....

I know I was going to do the wildflower shawl, its still on my list of things to do, but wanted to do something more Lacey and more of a challenge so there you go. Decision made, pattern ordered!!!The pattern is from SIVIHARDING, think it will take about 7 days to arrive from the states, so it gives me time to finish my broad ripple socks and the scarf I am knitting, if you want to see these and the progress check out my blog page, haven't worked out how to do the links yet but blog page is

Have any of you done this scarf or used this yarn?
